Some people are so successful that they start their own company.

Yes! Most insurance companies cover liability claims up to $1 million for accidental property damage and bodily injury. Your insurance company will usually compensate you for any damages that occur during the project.

What is the best time to hire a handyman for your project?

There isn't really a "right" time to hire a handyman. All you need is to get going as soon and as quickly as possible. You could save some money by waiting until after holidays. But you could also just pick up the phone and call around to different handymen.

How do I replace a damaged window?

Repairing broken windows is one the most common home improvement jobs. This task involves repairing any damage to your glass. The repair should take approximately 30 minutes. However, if you are not familiar with how to replace broken panes of glass, you may cause further damage to the home. This article provides tips for how to replace broken windows.

First step: Remove the old glass from its frame

First, remove all screws that hold the glass in place. Next, take out the lock at top center of the window frame's bottom section. Next, lift the window upwards so it isn’t attached to sill plates (the metal bars below the floor). The last step is to gently loosen all remaining screws with a tool. After the panes have been removed from the window, clean them well.

Second step: Clean your new glass

To remove dirt and grime from the glass' surface, use a paper towel or dry cloth. A spray bottle filled with water, rubbing alcohol and water can be used to clean debris stuck beneath the glass.

Third Step: Reinstall new glass

Reattach the window panels to the frames. Begin by pressing down on the outermost pane's lower edge with a screwdriver. Gently push back the pane into place in the opening. Next, insert the next pane by pressing it against the first pane. Continue to insert the panes until you have assembled the whole window. Use a silicone caulk gun to seal the space where the panes meet.

Fourth Step: Repair the affected area

When installing the new glass, inspect the area around the hole to determine whether any additional repairs are needed. Inspect the area around the window for cracks near the corners. If so, add two small pieces wood to each side. These wooden blocks will be strong and can also act as spacers, keeping the glass in its place during expansion and contract of the weatherproofing.

Fifth Step: Seal the repaired area

Apply silicone caulking around the edges of the frame after the glass has been replaced. This will seal the glass to the wallboard. You can buy silicone caulking online or at hardware shops. Make sure you choose a color that is consistent with the wall's existing paint.

Allow the caulking to cure overnight. After the caulking has dried completely, do not disturb it. You could crack the caulking if you wait too long.
